Hello everyone!  Well, it was a crazy week this past week.

As of now, I'm in my new area, Kajaani!  It is really really beautiful here.  The sky seems huge and we have a very pretty river that is like in the middle of the town, so it is pretty sweet.  The nature and everything here is way way awesome.  I will say, travel is a super downside though.  We have to get up way early in the morning to take a three hour bus ride from here to Oulu every week!  Hah, pretty crazy.  But that is what you get when you are in the middle of the country with no one really close to you.  There are some awesome people that I have met here this week, so that is cool.  Elder Aldous is really nice as well.  He's from Oregon which is super sweet as well.  Other than that, just lots of teaching some great people this past week.

Sorry I will say that I didn't exactly realize how many there were, but I have a lot of scriptures this week..........I promise there won't be as many this next week.
  • Alma 11:40
  • Alma 13:28-29
  • 1 Corinthians 10:13
  • Psalms 18:1-2
  • Mark 2:17
  • Mark 2:27
  • Mark 4:30-32
  • Mark 5:36
  • Mark 9:23-24
  • Alma 18:8-9
  • Alma 17:10
My spiritual though comes from one of the scripture passages, Mark 9:23-24.  A man has asked Jesus to heal his son and Jesus tells him that if he will believe, all things are possible.  The father quickly responds with, "Lord I believe!" but then returns with, "Help thou mine unbelief."  We don't have to have perfect faith for God to work in our lives.  It is an amazing truth that the Lord will bless us even when we can only hope to believe.  He hears us and He loves us so much, that even when it seems hard and almost impossible to believe, he is able to help us grow our faith.  And when trials and hardships come our way remember, "Be not afraid, only believe."  I love you all and have an awesome week!

Hello everyone!  So this week was good and really really sad.  We got transfer calls this week!  So to tell you all I am leaving my favorite city in Finland, Hyvink√§√§.  It's been so very amazing to serve here and I love all the people here and I am super super sad to leave.  I've been here for 6 months now and so it's all I've ever known.  So let's just say that I was disappointed when I heard that I was leaving.  However, I'm leaving to an apparently very beautiful place called Kajaani.  It is almost in the direct center of Finland so I'm super glad that I'm getting to go there in the summer!  It doesn't have too many members there but apparently it's got some way cool things to see and everything.  So that'll be fun.  I get to move out tomorrow and so that'll be one interesting time of train hopping!  Anyways, so that was the big news this week!  Other than that, not too much happened.  Just lot's of awesome member visits and saying goodbye to some dear friends that I'll miss a lot.  But nothing too exciting for you all to hear about.

My personal studies were great this week!  So here are some way sweet scripture passages for you all.
  • Alma 7:11-13
  • Alma 7:15
  • Alma 7:19-20
  • Alma 7:23-24
  • Alma 9:28
My spiritual thought this past week was just about how much God truly does love us.  We had a great Zone Meeting in which lot's of the departing missionaries were able to testify.  They all had a common theme of stating how much they know that God loves His children.  It was an amazing thing to see that in their short minutes to testify, all of these great missionaries had felt like that is one very important thing that they had learned on their missions.  I also know that God loves each and every one of us.  He truly is our Father in Heaven and He really does know each of us personally and intimately.  Know that He is there and that He is willing to listen and love you.  You just have to ask.  Have a great week!

Hello everyone!  So this past week was good!  We did lots of teaching this week which was awesome.  Our finding really paid off because we have had a couple of really good lessons and we also have a new investigator again this week!  She is super cool and she even referred herself to receive a Book of Mormon.  She became interested from watching a family's vlog on YouTube and she found out that they were Mormon...Shaytards for the win.  But wow, she's super cool and very ready to hear the Gospel.  We also were able to meet with another one of our investigators and she is doing good as well.  Plus, you add in a sweet dinner appointment where we had a lot of fun and learned about Finnish culture and overall, it was a great week.  The Lord really blessed us this past week.

I have a lot of scriptures for you all.  I know that you enjoy them so here's a bunch!
  • Alma 3:19
  • Alma 3:26-27
  • Alma 1:25-26
  • Alma 1:30
  • Mosiah 29:12
  • Alma 5:7,13,19, 26, 27, 38-39, 41
My spiritual thought this week actually comes from a man's tattoo on his arm.  Haha, I know a bit odd, but the message really rang true to me.  It said, "The deepest love is forgiveness."  It's so true that if you truly love people, if you have charity for others, you forgive them and you love them no matter what.  You look past their faults and their past and you see them as they can become.  And always remember that forgiving others, includes forgiving yourself.  Remember, you are doing better than you think you are.  Love yourself, even when you fail.  Because He loves you even though you aren't perfect.  Have a great week!

Hello everyone!  So this past week went well.

The work was going a bit slow in the beginning of the week, but yesterday our area exploded with people who were ready to hear the Gospel!  So that is way super awesome.  We got to do a bunch of teaching with people and we even have a new investigator.  We've only met with him once, so we don't know too much about him, but he seems way nice and super accepting!  We will get to see where that goes.  Other than that I don't really have much to tell you all.  It rained a little bit and all but overall it's been a good week.  Just lot's of finding that finally paid off.  But not too many exciting things happened.  However we did talk to a drunk guy yesterday and in the course of the conversation, after giving him a Book of Mormon, he shoved the Book into his pants and then continued to talk for a good 10 minutes more...so that was fun haha, but not much else to talk about.

Scripture study is important and so I have my weekly freshly baked scriptures for you to nourish your souls with!
  • Alma 5:19
  • D&C 123:17
  • Mosiah 23:21-22
  • Mosiah 23:27-28
  • Mosiah 23:15
  • Mosiah 26:30
My spiritual thought this week comes from the August Liahona (we get them early as missionaries), and it has a quote from Elder Neal A. Maxwell.  He says, "Not shrinking is much more important than surviving!  Moreover, partaking of a bitter cup without becoming bitter is likewise part of the emulation of Jesus."  To become more like Jesus Christ we have to remember that it is not only if we endure, but how we endure.  When we face hardships and trials, endure them well and always remember that you have a loving Heavenly Father that is the infinite source of love and help.  Call upon Him, and He will help you.  I love you all and I hope that everyone had a great 4th of July!

Hello everyone!  Wow, it was a pretty different week for sure.  We had a couple of super fun/cool things happen!  For starters we had exchanges this past Thursday with the Vantaa Elders.  Elder Jensen and Elder Gigena came to our area and we got to work with each other.  It was a lot of fun and it was just great to be able to have some fun conversations while we did work in the pouring rain.  Overall, awesome.  Not many people were out during the weekend because this last week was a Finnish holiday called Juhannus.  In Finland they celebrate the Summer Solstice because well, the sun doesn't go down here haha.  So it was another one of those "hard red" days where we aren't able to go tracting or contacting all day.  So we just came to the church, played some American football, watched some great Mormon Messages, and we even caught another hedgehog!  His name is Armoton (The Merciless).  It was a lot of fun and just a great week!

I have some great scriptures for you all from my favorite, Abinadi:
  • Mormon 8:38
  • Mosiah 14:3
  • Mosiah 15:18-19
  • Mosiah 16:9-11
  • Matthew 16:24-26
My spiritual thought this week comes from a talk that was given by Elder Robert D. Hales, when he was the Presiding Bishop of the Church.  He speaks of when he was learning to become a pilot and the instructor had very slowly tilted the plane, just a few degrees at a time, until the entire aircraft was upside down.  Elder Hales didn't know this when he took control of the plane and so he experienced something called vertigo.  How many of us are experiencing spiritual vertigo?  Are your choices that you make everyday bringing you closer or farther away from Christ?  Are you more spiritual from a couple of weeks ago?  Are you heading in the direction that you want and need to go?  If the answer is that you aren't making those correct decisions, the wonderful gift of repentance is always there.  If you are making good choices, keep at it and don't let Satan sway you.  I love you all!
